Photo Editor, Franziska with Burda Yukom publishing in Munich, Germany contacted me to do some environmental editorial portraits of an employee here in Toronto and who they are profiling in one of their print media pieces. At almost 8 months pregnant, I have to say this was kind of a challenge. I haven't taken a lot of jobs due to the complexity and length of certain types of work, however since the baby has moved down a bit and I'm less compressed in my lung area, this was an absolute dream shoot to do! I love editorial work, I love working one on one with someone and working with a photo editor who gives you the guidance and freedom to interpret the story. A few images from our photoshoot near his office, up in Richmond Hill. Scott was a great sport and just relocated to Canada from the US and although our cultures are quite similar, there are always obstacles and challenges with a relocation. These are a few of the outtakes from our time together. Tearsheet and final selection to eventually come.

The other portraits are being produced in Germany by Albrecht Fuchs, http://www.albrechtfuchs.de/ an amazing portrait photographer. I have huge respect for this type of work. I really love the raw, emotional image. No smiles and the unique and unconventional mood is what I am most drawn to. It's memorable and I absolutely love it! Very flattered to be included and to shoot for this project.

I shot this awhile back, just some fun happenings in my house of 3 crazy cats and a puppy (not to mention a baby on the way). As most cats have a curious streak, I just like following her around with my camera and spending time in her world. Love all my babies even when they drive me a little nutty.

Got the results of our ultrasound a few weeks ago and looks like it revealed (although they never want to guarantee it at 100%) that a little baby boy is on the way! Have been photographing my new look and just bought the baby's first pair of blue baby booties! So excited and blessed.

Leah is a beautiful baby girl. I photographed her a year ago without the clarinet or the radio in the ad, but of course the graphic designer added this to the pic. Overly photoshopped images are just not my thing, I always prefer realism, but had to say I thought this was a fun one in the end. It recently got picked up for a classical radio station advertisement in TO.

Toronto the beautiful is not so beautiful these days as the garbage strike enters it's 4th week and it's getting pretty nasty around the city with lots of illegal dumping going on. Ughh, here's a few images from my walk around Queen St. West yesterday. Was a little smelly.
